Laurie Mollica, CPA has been preparing taxes since 1983 and joined Riley & Associates, PC in 2001. Laurie has been a lifelong resident of Ipswich Mass, graduated from Ipswich High School, and earned her degree in accounting from Merrimack College in 1978. After graduating from College Laurie worked as a State Auditor for five years and was Accountant in Charge of auditing numerous agencies including the Lottery Commission and the Teachers Retirement board. Laurie and her husband began their family in 1983 having two sons and a daughter. Laurie has had direct involvement in the preparation of payrolls and payroll taxes since the 1980's as well. While her children were young she was the Treasurer of the Ascension Memorial Nursery School and the Ascension Memorial Church handling all their financial matters. In 2003, when her oldest son was a freshmen in College Laurie decided that she wanted to further her career by becoming a certified public accountant and passed the four part exam becoming certified in September of 2003. She had clients join Riley & Associates, PC with her from her private practice in the 80's and is proud that they have remained loyal to her for over twenty-five years. Laurie has gained considerable knowledge in the college financial aid process having three children that have gone through or going through the process and highly suggests familiarity with the website http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/index.htm when parents are nearing junior year in high school.
